Passive Income Streams for Hairstylists in 2023 (Live with Hairstory’s Wes Sharpton)

On Monday January 9th, I went live with Hairstory’s Wes Sharpton to talk about my biggest passion atm: making passive money online. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that we are standing on shaky ground. We’re also in high demand because the world needs us! But our livelihoods can be taken away because we have to physically show up to get paid.

With the current inflation and a looming recession, our focus has to be on increasing our earnings. Let’s show up online, help the world, and get paid doing it.

As hairstylists we sometimes shy away from the camera. A lot of us, because we’re artists, believe we belong behind the chair only and are too timid to show off what we know and who we are.

Well, I’m here to tell you that there is only one of you on this planet and there’s a reason for that. No one can be you, or have gone through what you have gone through, and there is something you are meant to teach and help others with.

Wes framed this perfectly: He said that if we approach this from an educator perspective (hello, we are natural born educators) it takes the pressure off the label of “sales” or “influencer”. We can take pride in being educators and artists who went to school and worked hard to get to where we are. All it takes is a little re-framing of our mindsets.
